A conversation with Brian Brown, author of "Apartheid South Africa! Apartheid Israel!"

Rev. Brian Brown is a South African-born Methodist minister who in the 1970s was deputy director of the Christian Institute (CI), an inter-church body opposed to the policies of the state’s White apartheid regime. The CI called for international Boycotts, Divestment and Sanctions as a non-violent pressure for change, exposed the plight of Black Namibians whose adjoining territory was illegally occupied, and demanded that Black South Africans be granted self-determination. After the regime banned the CI, Brian found exile in Britain where he continued his anti-apartheid activities. Brian is the author of the 2022 book Apartheid South Africa! Apartheid Israel!, a comparative and a legal analysis of apartheid in both countries.

In this conversation, we will explore the ways in which the State of Israel has and has not replicated South African apartheid, and the lessons Brian has learned from his analysis. Join us!
