Next JCB action near you

Not only is ICAHD UK working with our original campaign partners chaired by Protecting Palestinian Families, but ICAHD UK has been invited to collaborate with Amnesty, War on Want, Palestine Solidarity Campaign and the Amos Trust on the JCB campaign. At present we are planning a stunt that will happen within the golf course. In addition, we want the posters that we made from the slides used in our wall projections to be held up at the protest that will happen outside of the entrance.

It looks like our action will happen on Friday, the 29^th, when cyclists from the Big Ride will go past and we know that others such as Derby Friends of Hebron also plan to be there in force. For now, we must be discrete in what we communicate so that this information doesn’t get into the wrong hands.

It will be helpful if you could let us know if you can reserve this time for participation in actions during the tournament. Please email info@icahduk.org if you are interested in participation and we will keep you updated on the plans as they are confirmed.

Many thanks.

Best wishes

Dear Member,
I am writing to you with more news about our JCB campaign which continues to develop because JCB completely ignores our calls for it to tell its Israeli agent that its machines are not to be used in demolishing Palestinian homes. We are confident in this call because under OECD guidance for businesses, they are to make sure human rights law isn’t violated and this is also reflected in the UN’s listing of JCB as violating international law. At present JCB remains under investigation by National Contact Point, part of the UK Department of Trade, for failing to do due diligence in the use of its machines in home demolitions and for the construction and maintenance of Israel’s illegal settlements. To our knowledge, JCB has not made any effort to comply and is doing the opposite. In addition to the bulldozers, this week we received film footage of a JCB pneumatic drill being used for the first time in a demolition a few days ago in the Jordan Valley.

Another action at JCB headquarters

JCB is hosting a golf tournament for the Legends tour (https://www.legendstour.com/tournament/the-jcb-championship-2022) at the JCB Golf and Country Club in Uttoxeter between 29 – 31 July and this will provide a great opportunity for us to raise awareness amongst the attending public, the local community, JCB owners and staff, and the golfers participating in the tournament. .
