ICAHD Statement Condemning Israeli's 'Death Penalty for Terrorists' Law

1 April 2026

ICAHD condemns with outrage if not surprise the Israeli parliament’s passing of the Death Penalty for Terrorists Bill on March 30. Drafted by Internal Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, himself a convicted terrorist, it was supported by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, his entire Likud party and 70% of Israeli Jewish public.

The UN Initiative to 'Revive' the Two-State Solution: An ICAHD Statement

24 September 2025

Amidst all the pageantry and solemnity of the September 22nd opening session of the UN General Assembly, the keynote event was the concluding session of the High-level International Conference for the Peaceful Settlement of the Question of Palestine and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution. It was co-chaired by France and Saudi Arabia and for us demonstrated that the Palestinian struggle for self-determination does not rise to the level where it is taken seriously as a political issue by the most powerful of the world’s states.

Statement by Jeff Halper on Israel's Gaza Escalation

16 September 2025

On Monday evening, 15th September, Israel launched its all-out military assault on Gaza City. Marco Rubio is here in Jerusalem and has given Netanyahu Trump's approval and blessing for destroying a city of a million people. Many Palestinian residents have fled or are fleeing. The fact that have been forcibly driven out of their city without adequate provisions for their well-being in their supposed place of refuge -- they are fleeing, after all, to Israeli-controlled concentration camps overwhelmed with starvation, injuries, trauma, fear, violence and death -- constitutes yet another in a long list of Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity. At least 300,000 Palestinians remain as the Israeli troops, tanks and fleets of massive Caterpillar D-9 bulldozers are at this moment entering the city. Intensive carpet-bombing has commenced from the air.

ICAHD - Our History and Why Our Name Has Changed

24 July 2025

As you may know, after discussion, the ICAHD UK Executive Committee, the ICAHD USA Board, the Directors of ICAHD Germany and we at ICAHD headquartered in Jerusalem took the decision to remove the reference to “Israel” in ICAHD. It’s been something we have talked about for some time, but the ongoing genocide in Gaza, and its extension into the West Bank, has made it clear that we can no longer identify ourselves as an Israeli organization.

Awdah Al-Hathaleen Shot Dead by Israeli Settler – A Statement by Jeff Halper

28 July 2025

I've just heard the sad news that my friend Awdah Hathaleen from the Bedouin village of Umm al-Khair has been killed by violent settlers who invaded the community's land. I cannot say for sure, of course, but eyewitness reports point to Yinon Levy, a notoriously violent settler from the nearby Meitarim Farm, as Awdah's possible killer. Levy was filmed at the site waving a handgun at the residents and opening fire (film clip of Levy posted by Yuval Abraham).

As long-time non-violent resisters “on the ground” to Israel’s occupation and apartheid, we welcome our nomination by Norwegian MP Ingrid Fiskaa for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize. We also share a vision for a just and inclusive future for our peoples in a shared homeland. The nomination represents not only recognition of our joint efforts to confront Israeli repression, violence, displacement and denial of Palestinian national rights, but of the collective resistance the entire Palestinian people have sustained over the past century and more – supported, as our nomination signifies, by Israeli Jews of conscience willing to stand up for Palestinian rights in opposition to their own government and society.

I applaud the decision of the ICJ to accept South Africa’s claim that Israel was engaged in “plausible genocide” and that Israel’s actions in Gaza fall into the provisions of the Genocide Convention. I also applaud the Provisional Measures the Court did impose as it ordered Israel to:

take all measures to ensure that acts deemed genocidal under the Genocide Convention do not take place in Gaza ensure that its military does not commit genocidal acts prevent and punish incitement to genocide enable and facilitate the provision of basic services and humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza prevent destruction of and preserve evidence of genocide in its military operations report to the Court within one month of its compliance.
