Privacy Notice
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This notice explains what personal data the International Coalition Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) website collects, why, and who it's shared with. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data.
If you make a donation
When you donate through this site, the name and email address you enter are sent to our payment processor. They use it to process your payment, send you a receipt, and, for monthly donations, manage your subscription. We do not store your card details or donation history ourselves. Our payment processor holds that data under its own privacy policy, and it is PCI-DSS compliant.
If you donate anonymously, your name is not shown publicly and is not used in any acknowledgement. It is still shared with our payment processor to process the payment.
If you subscribe to our emails
When you subscribe to ICAHD's updates — through the signup page or the "keep me updated" option when becoming a member — the email address and first name you enter are sent to Mailchimp, our email platform, and stored on its servers in the United States. We use them only to send you news, campaign actions, event invitations, and our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the footer of every email, which removes you from the list. Mailchimp holds this data under its own privacy policy.
If you browse the site
We use an analytics service to see how many people visit the site and which pages get read. It does not use cookies and does not store your IP address. It records the page you visited, your rough location by country and region, your browser and device type, and, where available, which site sent you here. This is used only in aggregate; it is not used to identify you.
Translation
The language selector is provided by Google Translate. Using it sets a cookie from Google and sends the page content to Google for translation, subject to Google's privacy policy.
Accessibility settings
The accessibility widget (text size, colour/contrast mode, and read-aloud voice and speed) saves your choices only in your own browser's local storage, on your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else. Read-aloud uses your browser's built-in text-to-speech and the voices already installed on your device; no audio or page text is sent to a server.
Your rights
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Contact us below to do this. If the data is held by our payment processor, such as payment records, you may need to contact them directly.
