Ask Jeff - Where are we in the Struggle for Palestinian Rights?
Jeff Halper
23 June 2026
ICAHD UK provided the opportunity for reflection and discussion about where we are in the struggle for Palestinian rights because it is so easy to lose the forest for the trees. Palestine is both at the center of the action and marginal to it. Israel's motivation for attacking Iran and Hezbollah is a follow-up to its genocidal assault on Gaza and the refugee camps of the West Bank, all intended to break once and for all Palestinian resistance and its external sources of support so as to get on with normalization, however the Palestinians are not even at the table as their future is being decided.

Life and Displacement in East Jerusalem
Fakhri Abu Diab and Moneer Marjeieh
14 May 2026
Israeli authorities have accelerated the demolition of Palestinian homes in East Jerusalem, especially in neighborhoods like Silwan located just below the Old City. In nearly all cases, Israel cites the lack of building permits which are notoriously difficult for Palestinians to obtain.
Over 1,200 homes were demolished in the past five years, with an unprecedented surge following 7th October 2023. In addition, many hundreds of Palestinians are forced into "self-demolition" to avoid heavy fines and costs.
This webinar was held on Jerusalem Day, a date when Israeli flag-waving Zionists flood into Jerusalem’s Old City to commemorate the “reunification” with East Jerusalem. It is a day that involves frightening intimidation and violence towards Palestinians. It was also the eve of Nakba Day when we remember the 750,000 Palestinians who were made refugees, and that the Nakba continues.

From Gaza to Iran: The Changing Landscape of the Middle East
Massoud Shadjareh, Elham Fakhro and Jeff Halper
28 April 2026
Much was learned from the many insights provided by the speakers for this webinar. Iranian Massoud Shadjareh said that the US and Israel targetted Iran because of its support of the Palestinian people and because it took a courageous stand against Trump’s bullying. They expected the attack on Iran to be over within a few days but it has now continued for 40 days. He believes that the war has proved to be a failure because Iran has surviived and hit back hard. The popularity of the Iranian government is now at an all-time high. Massoud also talked about how international law has become irrelevant because the genocide in Gaza has been normalised and accepted.

ICAHD UK Webinar
Challenging Christian Zionism
Revd Dr Stephen Sizer and Dr Michael Spath
14 April 2026
The framework for this webinar is that we find ourselves in a world that seems to be falling apart due to political division and corruption, economic instability, and lack of respect for international law. In today’s world, religious leaders make deals with political leaders and vice versa, for reciprocal benefit. The news on 13th April included the AI generated graphic of Donald Trump portraying himself as Jesus healing the sick. It came shortly after Trump criticised Pope Leo as “weak”.
The aim of this webinar was to help the audience understand how the United States has embraced Christian Zionism, which is an interpretation of selected Bible passages, and “end time” theology to justify what the US is doing in Israel and further afield.

Palestinians in '48
Awad Abdelfattah
22 January 2026
During the webinar, Awad examined the oppression of Palestinian citizens of Israel and identified them as the first victims of Israel’s settler colonial agenda. Since 7th October 2023, Israel has intensified its mechanisms of control inside the Green Line—criminalizing political expression, repressing civilian institutions, restricting economic development and facilitating social disintegration through organised crime.
We apologise for the lack of picture during much of this important webinar.
