It will bring together Dr Leila Farsakh, Palestinian political economist, Associate Professor of Political Science at University of Massachusetts Boston and Dr Jeff Halper, ICAHD’s Director who resides in Jerusalem.
Tuesday, 15^th February – New York Civil Rights attorney Robert Herbst, Co-Chair of ICAHD USA, will interview Sylvain Cypel on his new book "The State of Israel vs. The Jews". Cypel shows how bereft of human decency Israelis have become in their treatment of Palestinians, and how much Jewish moral patrimony has been given up in creating, supporting, and tolerating a Jewish State.". It places Israel’s apartheid regime squarely within the framework of human rights and sets out in great detail just how Israel’s “institutionalized regime of systematic oppression and domination over Palestinians” stands in gross violation of international humanitarian law. Israel’s backlash seeks to discredit Amnesty, the world’s leading human rights organisation, and so far many western politicians have dismissed the report with some stating that it fuels antisemitism. Governments that are complicit in human rights abuses have also dismissed the report. Thus, it is vital that we all stand firmly behind Amnesty’s conclusions based on facts on the ground. Join a demonstration at JCB headquarters on 24th February Pressure on the British manufacturer of JCB bulldozers must continue! JCB has not taken adequate steps to prevent its machinery from being used for the demolition of Palestinian homes and settlement construction and thus fails to meet business obligations under international human rights standards. Therefore, another opportunity to protest outside of the JCB world headquarters at Rocester, Staffordshire, has been arranged for 11am on Thursday, 24^th February.
