Sara Apps – ICAHD UK’s new director

"I'm honoured to be joining ICAHD UK. I look forward to working with Israeli and Palestinian activists, bringing all of our talents and energy to supporting universal human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory and Israel. I've dedicated the last ten years of my life to campaigning for an end to this tragic situation - others, like Jeff Halper and Linda Ramsden, have given far more. Like all ICAHD UK members and supporters, I know that we will not stop until we attain our goal of a just and sustainable peace."
The handover process
Sara will begin working alongside Linda from the beginning of May. During the Members’ Dinner on Friday evening, 12^th May, Clare Short will interview Linda as she reflects on her years with ICAHD UK and shares her goals for the future. Sara will then speak about her vision for ICAHD UK. Don’t miss this special evening in ICAHD UK’s history. Book your place here (http://icahduk.org/2017/02/03/icahd-uks-annual-spring-conference/) and don’t forget to make your booking for our annual conference at the same time. Sara will also be introduced at the conference and following it she will take on the responsibility for directing ICAHD UK. Let’s fill the venues as we celebrate our achievements and mobilise for the
AGM & EGM
ICAHD UK’s Annual General Meeting takes place on Saturday, 13^th May, 10.00 – 11.30, at Amnesty International Human Rights Centre, New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA, and will also include an EGM because a few changes need to be considered in the text of the Memorandum and Articles of Association to bring our objectives up to date. Elections to our executive committee will happen during the AGM so we invite our members to stand for this two-year term. Leonard Beighton, who so ably has served as ICAHD UK’s treasurer since 2008, will be stepping down so this is another vital post to be filled. Those interested will need to supply a 250-word introduction about your qualifications and what you can contribute to the executive committee. It will need to be endorsed by two existing members of ICAHD UK and sent to info@icahduk.org (mailto:info@icahduk.org) before Thursday, 20^th April. All papers for the AGM and EGM will be sent to members at the beginning of May.
ICAHD UK’s Annual Conference – the full list of those contributing to the programme
Excitement is building for our 2017 conference, How Do We Advance the Palestine Issue in the Age of Trump & May? We can now confirm all those who will participate in the conference programme as Jeff Halper, Ardi Imseis, Robert Cohen, Ben Jamal, Colin Green, Judith Cravitz, Terry Meade, Linda Ramsden, Noga Flexer and Sara Apps. A little news about some of them is that Jeff and Ardi will be appearing following their participation in the recent Cork conference entitled "International Law and the State of Israel: Legitimacy, Exceptionalism and Responsibility". We have selected Robert’s latest blog, “Zionism, Apartheid and the Delegitimisation of Passover” to feature on our Facebook page for Passover. At the conference Ben will provide information about the legal opinion obtained recently from Hugh Tomlinson QC that found major faults with the government’s new anti-Semitism definition’s guidance and he will explain PSC’s plans to take the UK government to court over its attempt to
