The executive committee proposes the following change to the Memorandum of Association in light of ICAHD no longer being a registered NGO in Jerusalem. Please note that former members of ICAHD continue to work as an unregistered group that provides written information and analysis, speakers and an alternative tours programme.
3. The objects for which the Company is established are:
a) To continue the work of The Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, which existed as an Israeli registered NGO from 1997 until 2016; and
b) To help achieve a just and sustainable peace between the Israelis and Palestinians.
(iii) Advocate and campaign in support of human rights in both Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
During the EGM the above text will be introduced and a vote on its approval will be taken. Under the Companies Act 2006 this change to our Objects clause is a special resolution, which must be notified in writing 21 days in advance and to pass requires a 75% majority of those present and voting. Because of the requirement for 21 days notice no amendments can be accepted - the resolution either passes or fails. The Company's current Objects clause is attached for information. We look forward to seeing many of you present.
With best wishes,
