The study tours are unique and have proved life-changing for participants. Internationals experience the rich history and culture in a variety of ways from cuisine to markets, art and architecture, and travel to the different geographical areas in both the West Bank and the state of Israel. However, we enter another dimension in providing tours that are issue-based and grounded in ICAHD’s political analysis which cuts through the propaganda so often conveyed by the media. The tour groups are kept small as participants:

• Meet with inspiring key people and organisations who work on the cutting edge specializing in political analysis, education, humanitarian assistance, and legal representation • Look at developments concerning housing and water rights, demolitions and displacement, refugees, mental and physical health, travel restrictions, settlements, closures, women, children, and the struggle to preserve Palestinian heritage • Learn about genuine media reporting, non-violent resistance and the security needs for all people • Gain insight about the elements required for obtaining a just and sustainable solution for both Palestinians and Israelis based on international law • Discover what brings hope to the locals and what they want us to do when we return home • Participate in daily debriefing sessions to discuss the day’s programme

Join this meaningful way to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people. Bookings are being taken for the spring tour, 16 – 26 March 2020 (£1230). Contact extendedtour@icahd.org . See further details https://icahd.org/extended-study-tours/.

Our new ICAHD UK pens are also £2.50 (or 5 for £10.00) and ICAHD UK keyrings just £2.00 each.

Images from past building camps...

The work of ICAHD UK, and your support, has never been more urgent. Unfounded accusations of anti-semitism are rife and the need to lobby MPs and other leaders and key decision makers to reiterate the oppression of the Palestinian people, particularly in relation to illegal house demolition and the displacement of Palestinian families is crucial.

* £500 would allow us to bring a Palestinian speaker to the UK for the Conference followed by a UK speaking tour * £1,000 would allow us to update our website

The rebuilding of a demolished Palestinian home by a group of international volunteers, building bridges between communities and providing security for a displaced Palestinian family, costs upwards of £15,000 but not only provides a home but also gives many Palestinians a sense of hope for the future.

Along with partner organisations 'on the ground' in Palestine/Israel, ICAHD UK is planning a building camp in 2020 which will cost a significant amount of money. Part of this will be covered by the camp participants but we will need other funds for building materials.

Due to these various unavoidable costs, ICAHD UK are launching a Christmas fundraising campaign with the aim of raising £5,000 towards the costs of our work. Please consider donating to this campaign if you possibly can - any amount, however small or large, is vital to our work and our support of Palestinian families.

The 2020 ICAHD UK Conference will take place at the Amnesty International Human Rights Action Centre, 25 New Inn Yard, Shoreditch, London EC2A 3EA on Saturday 30 May. The Conference will be preceded by our annual Members' Dinner which will be held during the evening of Friday 29 May at the Wesley Hotel and Conference Centre, 81-103 Euston Street, London NW1 2EZ.

Further details about both events will be announced in due course but for now please mark your diary to reserve these dates. September 2019 Demolition and Displacement Report

During the month of September 2019, at least 47 structures were demolished in the occupied Palestinian Territories (including East Jerusalem) by Israeli forces, displacing at least 78 people- including 16 children- and affecting a further 1,096 people (according to OCHA oPT).

All the demolitions and confiscations were carried out on grounds of lacking an Israeli-issued building permit. Most of the demolished structures supported agricultural, herding and commercial livelihoods. Read more »
