In a joint statement, Amro and Halper write: “The nomination represents the collective resistance the entire Palestinian people have sustained over the past century and more – supported by Israeli Jews of conscience willing to stand up for Palestinian rights in opposition to their own government and society.”

The Board of ICAHD-USA

Over the past decade donors have virtually stopped supporting organizations with overtly political activities and programs. Today, to get funding, you cannot use terms like “apartheid,” “genocide” or, in many cases, even “occupation.” And we would have had to break ties to many of our Palestinian partners who have been designated as “terrorist” groups by governments in order to isolate and silence them. So, ten years ago, we decided to forego these sources of funding and rely solely on your donations, those of our genuine political partners committed to genuine political work. We have no office, and besides two part-time staff, none of us, neither here in Palestine/Israel or in our super-active chapters abroad, receive any salaries at all. All funds we receive go directly to support ICAHD activities.

completing the Abraham Accords.

But the Abraham Accords, the normalization process, cannot move forward until the Palestinians have been pacified, until they can no longer resist, and their struggle has been silenced. As autocratic as they are, the Arab regimes, and Saudi Arabia in particular, cannot normalize with Israel as long as the current levels of bloodshed are ended and a kind of industrial quiet prevails.

Beyond that, ICAHD continues to work with our Palestinian partners in fleshing out our 10-point political program for establishing a single democratic state between the River and the Sea (see our program at https://onestatecampaign.org/all/en-manifesto/ ) and building the organizational base for effectively promoting it, for which we also need funding.

Over the years, ICAHD has kept a dual political focus: resisting violent Israel pacification and forced displacement on the ground while advocating for, and organizing around, a just, inclusive and workable political program – a civil democracy over historic Palestine offering equal rights to all its inhabitants and bringing the refugees home. I’ve shared with you here one of our activities, many of which are out of the public spotlight. I truly believe that ICAHD has kept your faith over all these years. Both our agenda and our activities on the ground are focused on the most urgent and politically significant events facing the Palestinian people, and the fact that ICAHD amplifies a critical, anti-colonial Israeli voice contributes meaningfully to our joint struggle. Please generously continue to support us.

In appreciation for your support,

Jeff

Dear Friends,

In this appeal for donations for the work of ICAHD, we are passing on to you a personal appeal from Jeff Halper, ICAHD’s long-time Director, who most of you know personally or have heard speak in your community or in Palestine/Israel. As ICAHD USA, we are proud to announce that, at the behest of the Palestinian Solidarity Movement of Norway, Norwegian Parliamentarian Ingrid Fiskaa has nominated Jeff for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, together with Issa Amro of Hebron, a prominent activist recognized by the UN as a Human Rights Defender. “Amro and Halper’s nomination is not just a recognition of their individual efforts to advocate for human rights and a common future,” says Fiskaa, “it is a stark call to action for the international community. The situation in Palestine has reached a breaking point, and we can no longer afford to ignore the ongoing violations of international law.”

Dear ICAHD friends and supporters,

In these dark times in Palestine/ Israel, I take much of my strength to continue resisting the Judaizing of Palestine, to exposing its genocidal character and, equally important, to working with our Palestinian partners to promote a shared future for our peoples in one democratic state, from the support you have given ICAHD and me over these past 28 years. We have together done extremely strategic political work, whether in resisting home demolitions on the ground and rebuilding homes (close to 200) as joint political acts of resistance with Palestinian communities, in taking our knowledge of what is happening on the ground to the international community through our advocacy campaigns, and in playing a key role in building an effective organizational infrastructure with our Palestinian, Israeli and international partners. The following illustration gives you a sense of the breadth of our activities.

A LOOK BACK AT OUR IMPACT

ICAHD began as a direct action political organization in 1997, the “committee” in its name reflecting the fact that it started as a coalition of Israel peace groups. We started as political activists and we remain so today. As ICAHD developed into an effective, well-known organization, we began receiving funds from many donors: the UN, the EU, church groups and partner NGOs, as well as all of you. At one time we had an office in Jerusalem and eight staff. But we always remained unflinchingly political, refusing to become just another well-oiled NGO. And we paid the price.

“NORMALIZATION”

And so, this letter to you asking for your financial support. We are entering the most perilous time the Palestinians have faced since the Nakba, that of the normalization of Israeli apartheid, accompanied by mass forced displacement. “Normalization” may sound like a dry, gray, academic term, but in fact it is the way settler colonialism wins. It is a closure, not a peace process, not a negotiated settlement. As conceived by Netanyahu’s Israel with the full backing of Trump and the collaborationist Arab regimes, normalization takes what Zionism/Israel has managed to do to the Palestinians – take their land through violent displacement and imprison the remnant in small, impoverished enclaves within an Israeli regime of apartheid – and makes it permanent. Normalization means the Palestinian issue is removed from the international agenda and the world moves on. This is not some far-off, apocalyptic scenario; it will become reality if, in the coming months, Trump, Netanyahu and MBS succeed in

THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST NORMALIZING ISRAELI APARTHEID

We cannot let that happen. ICAHD, together with the One Democratic State Campaign, is initiating a Campaign Against Normalizing Israeli Apartheid, which aims to mobilize the world’s public against the Abraham Accords – and most urgently, to mobilize against the campaign of pacification Israel is waging in Gaza and the West Bank. We need your help in funding this Campaign, including hiring a part-time Palestinian Coordinator.

DONATE

We are in the process of creating a new ICAHD-USA website but, as always, our ICAHD website is a rich treasure of resources you can use and share.

Please donate at: https://icahdusa.org/donate

Together let’s strive to celebrate ICAHD’s demise by its 30^th anniversary as, having succeeded in creating a political movement strong enough to end Israel apartheid and usher in a prosperous, peaceful, just and shared state, our task is completed. That means, as a beacon in these almost hopeless times…. by 2027!
