Human Rights Watch Film festival
The Human Rights Watch Film festival (https://ff.hrw.org/london) is taking place in London, from March 18th - 28th. This busy fortnight of films showcases award-winning cinema from all across the globe, supporting independent filmmakers who campaign for and document pertinent human rights issues and abuses. Often surprisingly heart-warming and truly inspiring, the film screenings are brought together with Director Q&A sessions afterwards.
Amnesty's latest report
Download Amnesty's new report (http://www.amnesty.org/en/library/info/MDE15/002/2014/en) and refer to it when writing to your political representatives. It contextualises Palestinian protests as a response to "prolonged Israeli occupation and a litany of related repressive policies and practices", including the ever-expanding unlawful Israeli settlements, the 800km-long fence/wall, forcible house demolitions, forced evictions, Israeli military checkpoints, roads reserved for use by Israeli settlers from which Palestinians are excluded and other restrictions on the movement of Palestinians.
Webmaster vacancy
We are sad to say that our Webmaster Rob will be leaving us soon, after nearly a decade of working with ICAHD UK. A wonderful writer, as well as a skillful developer, he will be greatly missed. In the meantime though we will be updating and redesigning our current site, with the aim of making this more useful for you and easier to navigate. We hope to have something to unveil at our AGM. This does mean that we will be on the lookout for a talented web designer who is passionate about human rights and peace in the Middle East, to help us maintain our site ongoing. If you know of anyone who might be interested please put them in contact with us at info@icahduk.org.
